The symposium served as a platform for youth leaders, policymakers, and experts to discuss economic empowerment as a pathway to sustainable peace through key discussions centered on financial literacy, gender-inclusive policies, and entrepreneurship to address economic disparities and promote social resilience.
The Tameer-i-Amn Symposium 2025, organized by Laureate Foundation which has coordinated the Generation Change Fellows Pakistan Chapter (GCFP) in support with United States Institute of Peace (USIP), Prime Minister Youth Program, ACT International, and SINF, brought together diverse voices to explore the intersection of economic empowerment, peacebuilding, and inclusive development. Held on February 27, 2025, at Islamabad Hotel, the symposium served as a platform for youth leaders, policymakers, development practitioners, financial experts, and civil society representatives to discuss sustainable solutions for fostering peace through economic resilience.
With economic disparities and financial exclusion contributing to social divides and instability, the discussions focused on equipping youth and marginalized communities with practical tools for financial self-reliance and social transformation. Emphasis was placed on financial literacy, digital innovation, gender-inclusive policies, and entrepreneurial opportunities as key drivers for stability and long-term peace in Pakistan.
The event featured keynote addresses, panel discussions, thematic breakout sessions, and a peace-focused networking segment, creating a structured framework for integrating economic empowerment into peacebuilding initiatives. The conversations underscored the importance of policy-driven economic reforms, private-sector participation, and grassroots efforts in addressing socio-economic inequalities.
The symposium reaffirmed the Generation Change Fellows Pakistan Chapter’s commitment to empowering youth changemakers through capacity-building programs that strengthen their leadership roles in civic resilience and economic development. By amplifying the voices of young professionals and entrepreneurs, the event showcased tangible examples of how education, financial empowerment, and social inclusion collectively contribute to a more peaceful and prosperous society.
