DRUGS PREVENTION & CONTROL Program

Laureate Foundation’s Drugs Prevention and Control Program focuses on equipping young people with the awareness, life skills, and critical thinking needed to make informed decisions in environments where substance use is often normalized or misunderstood.

Supported by the Drug Free City Project, Lahore, the program works closely with youth—particularly those in vulnerable and underserved communities—to address the root causes of drug use, including peer pressure, lack of awareness, and limited access to guidance.

Rather than relying on fear-based messaging, the program promotes informed choices, resilience, and responsible behavior, helping young individuals understand both the social and personal consequences of substance use.

Approach & Impact

As an alternate education platform, Laureate Foundation approaches drug prevention as a life skill and civic responsibility, not just an awareness topic. The program is designed to create safe spaces for dialogue where young people can ask questions, reflect on real-life situations, and build practical strategies to navigate risk. The combination of interactive learning with community engagement, the program strengthens youth agency, informed decision-making, and social responsibility. It enables participants to not only protect themselves but also contribute to building healthier, safer communities aligned with broader civic values.
